Examining these hooks in the store it seemed to me that the heads were smaller on them than the other brands. Have those of you who've used them found this? That is, a project made with a 6 mm Clover hook may come out smaller than one made with a 6 mm Boye hook? I know that there is always some size variation between brands, but in this case it worried me that I could so easily see it.
If you've used the Clover hooks I'd love to hear your thoughts. Please chime in on the comments thread. Are the Clovers worth the money? Are they easier on the hands when you're working with a small hook? What about when your working with larger hooks? If you didn't like them, is there another brand that you would recommend? All thoughts are welcome...
Clover is the best, go for it,buy a lot and enjoy.
Size is an issue, I have 2 F hooks, one with 4mm and other with 3,75mm...
Just buy a buch and be happy!
I bought a whole set of those ergonomic Clover hooks, and I've been very happy with them, both large and small. But particularly the comfort on the smaller ones I use for amigurumi. You can always try one or two and see if you like em - coupons being key of course. :)
I love my Clover set. $10 each seems really expensive though. Take a look on ebay- they have sets of 8 for about $30.
I have the clover in 3.75 and a 4.25 for amigurumi. I really like them. They are worth it to me. I mostly use the 4.25 though.
All my main hooks are those Clover ones, and I love them. My crocheting actually took off once I got them, and I only use the others as back-up. They also hurt my hands less, as the normal straight ones were digging in my palm, although I accept that may just be my lack of technique.
My all time amigurumi favourite is 3.5mm.
I have real problems with the mustles in my wrists tensing and hurting, and the Clover hooks are heavenly, I love them. $10 sounds incredibly expensive, but what would I know. Here (Netherlands) they are about $4,00 a piece. But I love love love them. I use the 2.5 for amigurumi most.
LOVE THEM!! I added a soft plastic pencil grip to the end to make them even more comfortable - use them all the time!!
